Stolen from
keelywolfe and like her, I'm also cheating by posting more than one sentence. I'm such an ass. :)
"Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence!"
1. Daniel glanced away from the girl in time to see the boy, Zuko, reaching for the remains of a naquadah generator which was balanced on three books upon a nearby desk. Daniel leapt up. “Ah, excuse me...No, please don’t touch that.” He snatched the generator away and put it out of the boy’s immediate reach, shaking his head with exaggerated slowness. “No.”
2. Zuko realized stood out in the open, wholly visible. His stomach clenched – although he didn’t know why. This was his ship. She was the trespasser. He opened his mouth with half a thought to do what he should have done last night; demand why she was not in her rooms. His traitor mouth only said, “You’ve gotten better.”
3. He was in a garden, kneeling at the bank of a small pond. Sam looked down, took stock of the rich red robes and shapely hands with manicured nails, and gave a sigh. Well, his last three leapee’s had been male. It was a little much to expect that streak to last. At least this woman didn’t seem to be pregnant.
4. Chihiro lay flat in the short grass, both wings spread to their full length while Katara’s daemon preened her red feathers — rearranging them and smoothing them out with tiny bites.
5. Sokka and Zuko were fighting, snarling at one another in between clashes and clangs of bright steel that drove sparks up into the sky. But at the same time it was plainly obvious that something was wrong. Something was off in their steps… Katara had never seen such hatred on her brother’s face.
She had never seen Sokka use twin dao swords like a master, either.
6. Aarork stopped in his tracks and swung around. “Go do it your way then, Eirru. Go up to their stylized Sun Lord and beg for your brother back. They’ll have a laugh and then a feast of you. They call it blateken here, but in your language it’s just called venison.”
7. Some would have kept their eyes ahead, but Sokka was no coward. More than that he was curious and stopped more than a few times to read the labels on the pens and to peer at the people within. There was an entire row of large pens alone for the people of the Southern Earth Kingdom. These were hardy folk and most of them would be put to the mines; digging out precious coal which was in high supply, but deep under the permafrost. Earth and Air children could be inducted into private homes if they were young enough – they made for excellent pets for children and servants when they grew. Females of the Fire Nation were usually taken as body-slaves – their exotic looks were popular for that sort of thing. The males… well, they had their uses, too.
8. “You do not wish to learn the art of firebending. Look at you,” he said, walking around Zuko in a slow circle, evaluating the boy like a badly trained ostrich-horse. “You see an opportunity, and you pushed forward with it, heedless of the consequences. You are no master, yet you attempt to teach! How can you teach what you do not know?”

As for 7, well... *hides face in shame* that was part of a few pages I did one day for an evil Water Tribe. It's never to be posted, but writing evil!Sokka striding around in the slave-pens to pick a new subject for an human experiment to block firebending... lots o' fun. It wasn't very in character, though.

...I just realized how neat it would be if Sam jumped into Iroh and let Zuko into the war room. Wonder if Zuko would still get burned or if Sam/Iroh would try and stop it? Sam could do his guilt trip thing.
