I saw HBP today.

Okay my love for Harry/Draco might might be rekindling. I wasn't even watching it with my slash-goggles on, but WOW guys. I forgot how obsessed Harry was with Draco's Every Action And Motive during this year. The first part of the movie was worst -- the interaction between Harry and Ginny seemed stilted, and Harry was all halfway reluctantly talking about girls with Ron while intensely staring at the map where Draco was walking back and forth... Umm....

It was so blatent it felt like it was put there on purpose. Really, it does.

The second half of the movie showed some sizzle between Harry and Ginny, but... meh.

One of my favorite scenes had to be Ron-gets-drunk-on-wuv-potion. It went from funny to tragic like BOOM. The whole audience went hushed when Harry stuffed the beazor in Ron's mouth and was like, "Breathe, damnit!" And the joke Ron made afterwords really fell flat with my theater. There were some half-hearted chuckles, but it was a little too traumatic to have that sort of recovery.

And when Tonks tells Molly/the audience that you know how Remus is "during the first part of his cycle" my friend started giggling so hard she could hardly stop for a few minutes. It sounded like she was crying, and people were looking at her funny. Lol.

And dude, I was never even a Harry/Hermione shipper, but I sensed chemistry between the two. Not as much as the Harry/Draco, but... yeah. It was just there. Hermione/Ron will be very sweet to see towards the end, but I just hope there's more between Harry/Ginny by the final movie(s).

Lavendar's actress was too over the top, btw. That was a shame to see, because there was good acting throughout.

And finally... the adults always seem to steal the scenes from the kids. Every single time. I could just watch an AU version of the movies with just them with Harry and Co cut out. Really, I could.

In other news, it was 105 degrees out there. I had to drive from downtown to pick up my friend to Folsom to watch the movie and back... without AC. We got there about an hour early so we went across the street to the outlets... it felt like the sun was trying to melt me to the asphalt each step. Like I had 30 pound weights tied to each ankle. I just could not believe the heat.

So I'm not the only one who wants to kill off the kids and just have the adults all the time? I mean, it's really unfair to have these geniuses work next to unseasoned kids.

I know, right? It was just SO bad during the early movies when the kids were... well, kids trying to act for the first time. Even now, the actors just fit so seamlessly in their roles. I SHOULD see Allen Rickman, the Voice of God from Dogma... (because that's where I first saw him, and that's how I identify the actor), but I just see Snape. The guy who played Slughorn was perfect. PERFECT.

Amen. ANd Henela Bonham Carter freaked me out. Forever. I'd be terrified to say hello to her.

Though the young Voldemorts...yummy.

It was good that they had more Harry and Ginny tension early... since in the book it's entirely in Harry's head, so kind of impossible to film - but bad that it was just generic sexual tension. Worse is how they totally removed the Harry and Ginny as a couple bit - it was as if Ginny decided to cheat on Dean with Harry. What happens in the Room of Requirement stays in the Room of Requirement!

And then Hermione makes them a couple at the end, and clears it with Ron and all. I know not how.

Yeah that's very true! I didn't even notice it before, but it WAS as if Ginny had been cheating on Dean. I thought at first that the kiss was all in Harry's head, but... I don't think it's fair for their relationship to start like that, you know?

I have seen it too, ant I think, you're right in some pionts. Draco was very interesting - better than in the films before, and I wish there were more scenes with Snape. But still it was okay, although in the middle I had the feeling, the film became to slow.

Me too! I was ready for it to end about twenty minutes before it actually did. That's a fine line to walk, and I think they mostly got it right, but it was... long.

I not the biggest fan of the book because in 5 and 6 Harry is an emo little girl. but the films made the book seem interesting. I thought the same for this film. I didn't want to punch any of the kids in the face. Overall i enjoyed the film more than the book. yeah there were some things that were changed from book to movie, but they were little-ish things and i don't really care. XD

It's been so long since I read the book that I honestly forgot most of what happened. I agree that book 5 and 6 were just emo-rific. Book 5 was worse, in my opinion. lol. :D

I wish Rowling would write a novel about the early days of the Death Eaters... you know, with Voldie and the Malfoys and Snape... *sigh*

Also, I don't think Lavender's actress was over the top... and that's sad, because that means I've met people like her. WAY too much like her. And it is really REALLY horrible to see those displays of affection in real life. They make you sick with diabetes.

Oh lord, you KNOW someone like Lavender? Either I haven't, or that kind of affection bleached the memory banks in my brain. Lol.

Yes, I have met people like that.
I remeber one who thought it would be a GREAT idea to give his boyfriend a bib full of candy and diaper with a love letter (it was their 9th month anniversary)... and there was a girl who agreed and said "OH MY GOD THAT IS SUCH A CUTE IDEA!!"

I'll have you know that when Draco was fixing the cabinet, I ALMOST expected Zuko to be inside. ^_^***

LOL! That is so cool to hear... and yeah, I watched it again last night with the fan fiction in mind and I totally gasped for reasons of my very own when the white bird died in the cabinet. It could have been Zuko! :D
