Due to popular demand -- or just demand -- I've created a quick and easy list on how to block *cough* ads. I'll trust it to you to read between the lines, here.

First! (And this is a must) you need to install Firefox.

I cannot emphasize how good Firefox is. I'm not one of those tech geeks who slobber over everything new, even if it royally sucks. (Unless it's a cellphone, but that's my job.) But Firefox is the shit.

It's a browser that mostly works like Internet Explorer,  but it's open source. That means you have an actual army of geeks sitting in their basements, creating little programs to make your life easier while browsing. What it means to you is that you get to do groovy thinks like block ads and have instant spell-check while you type.

If you do not have Firefox, please follow these 4 easy steps.

1) Go to www.cnet.com and click on Downloads.

2) Follow the little list on the left and click on browsers.

3) Scroll down a little. At the writing of this post, firefox is currently on the popular list. It usually is. 69,785 people can't be wrong!!!! (It's more like a few million, but you know, new updates and all...)

4) Install Firefox! It will probably ask you to restart your Internet Explorer. That's normal.

Now that you have Firefox, it's time to download addons! Open up a fresh Firefox browser and follow these 9 easy steps to ad-freedom!

1) Click on Tools and then Add-ons.

2)  A new list will be empty. Btw, there are plenty of other groovy add-ons. StumbleUpon is a wonderful way to waste hours and hours of your day. Anyway, click on Get Extensions.

3)  Well lookie there, it's #1! Click on Adblock Plus which is found under Popular Extensions.

4) Install. You will then be prompted to restart Firefox.

5) Once that's done it's back to our friend Tools and Add-ons.

6) Adblock Plus and the Talkback thing are probably the only ones you will see in your list. No matter, click on Options.

7)
Under Filters, click add filter subscription (I know it's getting a little hairy, but we're almost done!)

8) Click View all Subscriptions.

9)  Here is a list of your possible add block subscriptions. Remember the army of geeks I told you about? Well they constantly update these things to keep up with the never ending ads. Pick what you want, but I'm always a fan of the words Easy and English. (And I've tested it on the *ahem* new updates. It works.)

And... that's all, folks! Now you can go your marry way about the web, naked and whooping. No ads to bother you from here on out!

(Go ahead and link back to this post if you know of any people/parties who would benefit.)
