Oh, Arthur!Cole... :) I love your characterization of him. He seems to fit both characters! I quite liked the details of the forest dream - the pinecone signs, the old college girlfriend with the impractical tank top... and how the ghost affected the dream. Super cool, super creepy... That description of how Arthur is "woken up" - just accepting the inevitable shot...
"And Arthur always made sure, doubly sure, that he set up their workplaces at least a mile away from any known hospital, morgue or cemetery." I love that he has to take these kinds of precautions.
"He took one look around the warehouse and then reached immediately into his pocket to withdraw his totem." I WOULD MAKE THE EXACT SAME ASSUMPTION.
"Nothing was tripped. He knew it wouldn't be. Whoever, whatever did this wouldn't need to worry about opening doors or windows." So creepy. I like how Arthur goes through the motions for the benefit of the others.
Oh Eames, making jokes about ghosts... I half expected Arthur to have awkward laughter and shifty eyes... but this is serious, man.
"Arthur glanced sharply at him, a retort on his tongue – then froze as he caught sight of pair of dark, angry eyes. Mal peered up at them all from over the edge of up the upturned desk. No, not at them... her attention was focused solely and completely on Dom." SO CREEPY. And in-character for Sixth-Sense!ghosts AND Mal. You seriously picked the perfect fandoms to cross. For serious. Oh god, she's so creepy, even when she's trying to be helpful.
I like these little asides in which Arthur gets to help people. I really like the thought of a grown up Cole doing things like this as a party of his daily routine. :)
Aww... he still speaks with his mother! (Sometimes)
"Arthur considered firing – just a wingshot, nothing fatal – but thought that explaining the sound of the gunshot to his mother would be more trouble than it was worth." I love this moment. More Arthur than Cole, perhaps, but awesome nonetheless.
"I think you know something you weren't quite willing to share with the rest of the class." Excellently put! I can hear the actor's voice saying it in my head. :D
Oh man, Mal, you're definitely pushing it... I can't help but be amused at Eames' reaction, although I probably would have reacted in the EXACT SAME WAY to unexplained phenomena.
"Embarrassment and a very old anger burned hot in his veins. "I didn't—don’t look at me like that," he snapped." Aww... and that was all Cole. ;_; You combine them so well.
"He was wrong. Arthur was never alone. That was the problem." ;_;
Daaamn... I really want more. Like, right away. Thank you so much for writing!
