What can I say? I try to resist, but my will is weak...

... WELCOME TO THE AVATAR/FMA FUSION MEME!!!!!

1. There are no rules.
2. Except for these rules directly following rule #2.
3. Up to 3 requests per poster. I'll try to get them all done, but you know me and my track record for getting meme's done....
4. The tentative character fusion cast list is as follows!!!

Main Cast!!!! ('Ze Good Guys!)

Sokka -----> Edward Elric
Katara -----> Alphonse Elric
Zuko --------> Roy Mustang
Mai ---------> Riza Hawkeye
Jet ----------> Scar
Toph ------> Olivier Armstrong (or alternatively, Izumi)
The Boulder ----> Alex Armstrong
Suki ------> Winry
Hakoda -------> Van Hohenheim

Homunculus ('Ze Bad Guys)
('cause this is an Avatar fusion there are four Homunculus's Homunculi. They are based on the elements.)

Azula -----> Fire
Long Feng ------ > Earth
Aang ------> Air
Pakku ------ > Water

Others!!!
The Mechanist -----> Shou Tucker
Teo ------> Nina (OH NO YOU DIDN'T! oh yes I did)

6) Fusion is based on the Full Metal Alchemist world, not the Avatar World. So think, pre-WW2 Germany.

5) The above cast-list is tentative and there as a guide to get people started. If you'd rather see, I dunno, Toph in Alphonse's position kicking ass with a metal body, just request it. You never know. :D

7) All pairings, all genres accepted (Darkfic, crack, what-if...ect.). Just be kind to me and don't request too much Maiko, or I might have to dig out my own eyeballs with a rusty spoon.

Remember! You get 3 requests! So, go ahead and make my night?

EDIT: THERE WILL POSSIBLY BE SPOILERS FOR THE MANGA UP TO CHAPTER 106. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Have you followed manga? How far are you in it? Because in new chapters is a prompt I am dying to ask...

How did Zuko's and this verse's Lust's confrontation go?

Zuko in Ishbal!

I love FMA and I am way too spyched up at this.

Ohhhhh. Good point. I've read up to the newest chapter (I have a feeling I know what you're going to request and I fully support it. hehe). Thanks for bringing it up! I've updated the post to reflect that there may be spoilers.

Okay. ^^ Zuko loses his sight to the gate.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 04:41 pm (UTC)
A thin stalagmite erupted from ground by Zuko’s feet. He twisted, arching his back awkwardly to sidestep away, but the point of the rock caught the tail of his jacket—threw his balance off, just enough.

He didn’t see the second stalagmite. It was too fast – the monster was too fast.

For a moment, Zuko didn’t feel any pain. He simply looked down and saw with a strange detached clarity how the spear of rock had gone through his belly. When the rock retracted again, he felt it inside.

And to his shame, he screamed.

Long Feng or Earth or whatever the hell he was calling himself now chuckled, the sound right in Zuko’s ear. “I have to admit, it’s not every day I get to fight an actual prince. You didn’t disappoint.” The homunculus smiled at him. Zuko had burned his face off nearly a dozen times, but it didn’t matter. Within a few seconds, Long Feng had regenerated again.

The power of the philosopher’s stone, Zuko thought, dazedly. No wonder Sokka and Katara were after it.

He twitched his hand, but before he could so much as snap a finger – if he was going to die, he was going to take this son of a bitch with him. See if Long Feng could regenerate from a full force blast strong enough to take down the building -- the homunculus staggered back.

Two stiletto knifes protruded from Long Feng’s neck.

“Don’t. Touch. Him,” said Mai, from the doorway.

Where's Havoc, you say? Well, while Mustang is smart enough to take backup with him, Zuko's just arrogant enough to think he can take on Long Feng by himself. haha.

Oh god, Mai is so fsking awesome. Always.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 05:00 pm (UTC)
Havoc could be Ty lee?

And who is Ozai in this verse? Father? Is Zuko still related to him?

I love this fic and this verse gives me delicious shivers.

can i ask for one where you show who iroh is? how would he fit in to the world with zuko/roy?

also, i just started to get back into fma, you are a mind reader!

LJ ate my comment last night.

I know nothing about any of this. Is Katara the giant robot, or the one with a metal arm?

Anyway.

I want Katara/Zuko with both of them being completely FAIL and yet still kicking ass and being sexy. And hopefully droll Mai comments.

Since the Boulder and Toph have the same surname, I assume their characters are related, so I want Boulder and Toph hijinks.

And I want Katara and Aang's confrontation, as dark and tearbending as I'm sure you've imagined.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 02:52 pm (UTC)
You can read it here: http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/ It's literally the best manga I have read.

and it's not a robot, but an armor. ;D
Friday, April 30th, 2010 05:46 pm (UTC)
Ha. I thought that Alphonse was a robot the first time I tried the series, too. I was like WTF IS THIS SHIT? *click back* Then I tried to read it a few months later and found out it was _awesome_. <3

If she could feel the cold, she would probably be shivering by now.

If she had true eyes, she would no doubt be weeping.

Instead Katara could only hug her empty armored legs to her chest, raise her head and just look at him. Maybe, she was seeing him for the first time.

The boy she had laughed and played with was gone. A homunculus stood in his place.

“So what should I call you?” Her voice echoed tinnily from the confines of her metal body, coming from everywhere and nowhere at once. After all, she had ceased to have a throat a long time ago. “Your real name isn’t Aang, is it?”

The boy blinked at her, then glanced away. “You can still call me Aang if… if it makes you feel better.”

“It doesn’t,” she snapped. “What’s your real name?”

“Air.” He said it quietly, but Katara could swear she saw the pebbles around her move as if pushed by an invisible wind.

“You’re not going to get out of here.” If she had a mouth, she would have smiled. Maybe. Katara gestured around to the thick dome of earth that her father had transmuted – a huge display of alchemic power, and she doubted Hakoda had even broken a sweat. “My body doesn’t need food or water or even air… and I don’t think yours does either, right?”

He looked down. “No.”

Despite herself, Katara felt a stab of pity – one which she ruthlessly crushed down again. Aang--Air wasn’t a helpless boy. He was just man-made to look like one. “Good.” She clapped her hands together, “We’ll just sit here then, until this ‘Promised Day’ of yours ends—”

“KATARA!!!”

It was Sokka’s voice, muffled by layers of dirt and solid rock, along with rhythmic thumping. Katara had the sudden vivid image of Sokka standing outside, beating at the dome with his automail hand.

She stood and pressed a palm to the wall. “I’m here!” she called, “Sokka I’m fine! Calm down!”

“Stand back, I’m getting you out of there!”

“NO!” Didn’t their dad explain—no, of course he would have, but Sokka would hardly listen to him. “Sokka, this was my choice. I’m the only one who can do this. Aang can’t hurt me.”

Silence, then. “Damnit.” Another thump. Maybe Sokka had hit the wall with his head this time.

“I’ll be fine, Sokka,” she repeated, willing for him to believe it.

“… Yeah, I know. You’re strong, sis.” Pause. “Jet and the other Ishvalens are going to make their move soon. I’ve got to help them.”

“Stay safe.” Her voice was low, and she wasn’t sure if he had even heard it, but she got the impression of him smiling – sometimes she wondered if he was truly right about their the lines crossed between their souls. She didn’t remember this level of awareness of her older brother before her soul was transmuted into armor.

“You know me,” he replied, which was a promise and a threat all at once.

Then he was gone.

Katara stared blankly at the dome wall for a long, long time after she heard the last of their group move out. Then, reluctantly, she returned back to her prisoner.

Aang was sitting on the other side of the dome, just watching her. And if she didn’t know any better, she would say he seemed… sad.

“He cares for you a lot, doesn’t he?” he whispered.

“Of course. We’re family.” Katara hesitated. She didn’t want to reach out, but as much as she kept telling herself this was a monster… it was also Aang. “The other homunculus’… Aren’t they your family?”

“… Not like that.” Aang replied.

*lower lip wibble*

So in character for all the avatar characters, and makes me tempted to read FMA.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 07:19 pm (UTC)
Gah! ;_; I really liked that “You can still call me Aang if… if it makes you feel better.”/“It doesn’t." exchange. <3

Also, the last few lines made me wibble. ;_;
Friday, April 30th, 2010 02:51 pm (UTC)
Crack crossover meme FTW. XD

1. Van Hohenheim going out drinking and getting into trouble with Pinako (young Pinako or old Pinako). Maybe Kyoshi or Hama for Pinako? Or if you think of someone better for Pinako, use that character.

2. Alphonse!Katara rescues a critter and Edward!Sokka thinks, "Dinner!"

3. Alphonse and Edward meet Prof. Zei!Sheska. It's up to you whether the character is male or female.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 03:07 pm (UTC)
I second #2. That would be so IC for all!
Friday, April 30th, 2010 03:40 pm (UTC)
I like the Ed!Sokka and Mustang!Zuko, and that would make for a lovely Zukka/Ed/Roy story. Other than maybe a Sokka!Ed and Suki!Winry sexy tiems, I dunno. Surprise me! Oh, Katara as Lust and her fight with Mustang!Zuko that ends in angry sex. Hee hee.

I love Aang as a bad guy (Aang=Wrath, yes?). I'm on the fence with Mai as Riza, half of me agrees, the other thinks she would make an awesome Lust. Azula would be good as Envy, And Teo was transmuted with the wheelchair, right? Would Iroh be Gluttony? Long Feng=Greed? Pakku=Sloth perhaps? I'm just trying to visualize who's who.
Friday, April 30th, 2010 11:19 pm (UTC)
Actually I think Avocado (and feel free to correct me here) is using the manga versions of the characters, not the anime. Aside from lust gluttony and envy, the versions are entirely different characters, with different abilities.
Saturday, May 1st, 2010 01:12 am (UTC)
Oh, okay, thanks for clarifying. That's why I was asking. I'm still fairly new to both the manga and the anime of FMA but I'm in love from what I've seen so far. :)
Saturday, May 1st, 2010 11:32 pm (UTC)
To clarify, I'm going with the manga version. I've only read that and seen FMA Brotherhood. I can work with what you've asked, but if there's something else you'd rather see because I'm not familiar with the manga than just ask! :D

Homunculus!Aang - the temptation to do (or be!) good.

Zuko and Homunculus!Azula - first meeting (or LAST meeting >:3 )

Sokka - if Sokka is Edward Elric... how does he feel about freaky magic powers AKA alchemy? (especially if him being able to use it resulted in his sister losing her entire body)
Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 03:22 pm (UTC)
Sokka loved alchemy.

He’d never admit it to anyone – not while Katara was a walking suit of armor, and on the nights the stubs of what was left of his limbs ached so much… And he’d certainly never mention it to the high flame jerk-imist, himself.

At first, alchemy was an excuse: Dad was gone, and Sokka was going to train himself to be useful enough to go help him. Then… and then it had become some sort of twisted quest to bring back mom again, to see Katara smile…

… Then, naturally, to fix his Great Mistake.

And somewhere along the way, without realizing it, Sokka fell in love. There was no guesswork in alchemy, when you were doing it right. It was an equation: equivalent exchange, pure and simple. This wasn’t magic. It was science.

One day, he’d think sometimes when he and his sister were stuck in between two places – debunking one lead and waiting for the next. One day, when Katara had her body back and he retrieved his arm and leg… he’d have to find himself a new goal. Maybe work restoring the military’s chimera’s back to normal.

Whatever it was, it would have to involve alchemy. It was what he loved – it was what he was.

This is just perfect! :) This is SO Sokka - I can hear his voice in my head as I read this, especially when I read lines like "the high flame jerk-imist". XD So very in-character!

I quite liked his justification that it's SCIENCE, not magic. :) I also loved his reasons for learning it in the first place - it fits in very well with both the Avatar universe as well as this one. Well done!

Thank you so much for writing this! :)

I'm a little late to the party, but that's okay. I can only think of one idea, anyway:

They defeat Long Feng, but the philosopher's stone for Earth comes into Toph's possession. And possession is precisely what happens. Toph doesn't have the same motivations as Ling - how does she react? How does everyone else react?
Saturday, May 1st, 2010 06:16 pm (UTC)
Fma is one of my favorite mangas. If this is still open, I would love to participate in the awesomeness. I have four ideas, but the last one is only if the third doesn't fit in this universe.

Little Sokka and Katara, when they first decided to bring their mother back. Who thought of it first? In the manga, it was Ed's idea, but it seems more like a Katara thing to do.

Winry!Suki, "until you return to normal, I will support you."

Who is Hughes? For some reason Lu Ten springs to mind... well anyways, Avatarverse!Huges and Roy!Zuko, "War Buddies".

But if the last one really doesn't work for you, Then the first time Zuko met the Elric siblings and recruited them.

Note: In this AU, Prince is a ranked military title to the equivalent of Colonel.

Zuko’s vision had collapsed into a tunnel as he strode up to the house – the edges all tinted in red. He hardly remembered pounding on the door, or pushing the old woman who answered, aside.

He had come looking for two prodigies. What he had found instead, in that little basement in the house on the hill, was a nightmare.

The woman squawked something at him, but the prince didn’t turn around. He trusted Mai to have his back, to handle the situation.

“Where are they?” Zuko demanded, and something – a slight creak of metal against metal – made him turn.

There was a boy sitting, slumped, in a wheelchair at the end of the hallway. Some lithe figure dressed in armor standing at his attention to his back. Zuko strode over, already feeling the heat between his fingers. The boy was only a few years younger than himself, but it didn’t matter. What this boy had done … what he did was taboo.

“NO!”

The figure in armor must have read the intent in his eyes because he – no, it was a girl’s voice… she – stepped in front of the wheelchair, holding up a hand. “No, don’t hurt him! It’s… it’s my fault! Please.”

“Katara…” the boy croaked. He tried to push his sister back, but there was no strength in his remaining arm. It looked thin as a reed.

Zuko halted mid-step and looked from the boy to the armor and back again. “You’re the Elric siblings.” It wasn’t a question. The anger hadn’t faded, but shock had given him a pause. He focused again on the armor – saw how the light spilling in from the window had illuminated briefly through the joints. A body should be there, yet it was empty.

This boy had transmuted a soul? His sister’s soul?

The Prince’s back straightened, but he relaxed his hands. A small voice in his head thought, I could work with this.

“Explain yourselves. Now.”

They did – or at least, the soul in ancient woman’s armor did. The boy made no move – his blue eyes focused somewhere in the middle-distance, or at nothing at all. Occasionally, he made a shallow nod in time with his sister’s words as if to confirm them.

Zuko knew himself to be no great speaker – a flaw for a ranked Prince in the military – so when it came his time to speak he did the only way he could: from the heart.
Monday, May 3rd, 2010 09:32 pm (UTC)
Thanks so much! I love Sokka's near comatose state, and Zuko's automatic trust in Mai's abilities.

My favorite line has to be the last though- Zuko is a very emotionally honest person. I find it interesting that he managed to get his 'Prince' ranking with his interpersonal skills being noted as a flaw- he must be very good in other areas to make up for it.
Saturday, May 1st, 2010 09:09 pm (UTC)
I have nothing to request, I'm just going to watch and enjoy hahahah.

I think I read someone's crack drabble once upon a time, Zuko vs. Roy Mustang while their long-suffering girlfriends interfere.
Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 03:25 pm (UTC)
Ack! I read that. It was great. :D

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 03:31 pm (UTC)
What? I have to read this! Would it be possible to have a link...?

Huzzah! :) Thank you!
Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 10:28 pm (UTC)
Upon reading the manga, I have decided to retract my Katara/Zuko request (unless you have already made it sexy awesome), because I'm not feeling the chemistry of the setup anymore (though put Katara back into Olivia's place and mrrow...).

In its place, I want shameless Fail-ko and Roy-fail.
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 10:31 pm (UTC)
Not what you asked for at all, but here you go anyway: http://avocado-love.livejournal.com/126032.html :D
Friday, May 7th, 2010 09:36 pm (UTC)
You know. Because I've already made my three prompts, so I of course wouldn't be requesting more. These are just little ideas I was thinking about. Totally coincidentally. You know how it goes.

Things like Zuko's epic fail in his attempts to master the language of flowers (handy link provided here). Something like oh, how orange blossoms mean fertility and nasturtiums mean patriotism. So easy to confuse.

"Really sir. Queen Anne's lace."
"That's right. In the symbol of flowers, they mean 'perseverance.'"
"No sir. Hydrangea."
"What?"
"Hydrangeas mean perseverance. Queen Anne's lace means 'delicate feminine beauty.'"
"..."

Also, I think Iroh Christmas's pai sho parlor and tea emporium must be an amazing setting for some little drabble...
