You know, I think he replaced Lupin, although I was intentionally vague about it. When I imagined it, the kids were about that age. So the Gryffindors kinda hate their new teacher right now. :D
And Draco's report to Daddy will be completely disgruntled... until he manages to nail Ron in the back of the head with a quill in a few months using one of Iruka's techniques. Then he'll see the value in it.
